All NC-PIMS Lead Teachers need to read this important announcement regarding the 2006-2007 School Year and upcoming Summer Course and Leadership Training Schedules.

Basic Information for Lead Teachers About 2006-2007 School Year

Primary Lead Teacher Responsibilities for the 2006-2007 school year:

   * renew Lead Teacher Agreement

   * five total days of Leadership Training (two in spring, three in summer)

   * seven total days of a graduate-level course (five in summer, two in fall)

   * deliver 12 hours of professional development

   * register for graduate credit at one of the three partner universities (ECU, FSU, UNCW)

   * receive $1500 stipend

            The role and responsibilities of the Lead Teacher for the 2006-2007 school year will be very similar to this current year. There will be five total days of Leadership Training (two will be held early next year and the final three will be in the summer). Registration for the first two days is currently available!  In addition, each teacher will participate in one five-day graduate course during the summer with two follow-up days in the fall to complete the graduate course. All tuition and course fees are paid by the project.  The registration for the summer courses (and for the summer Leadership Training) will be available in January. Each Lead Teacher will also provide twelve hours of professional development to the classroom teachers at his/her school or district. These hours will be determined at the district and school levels. The stipend for all Lead Teachers who agree to these responsibilities will be $1,500. The initial payment will be made to Lead Teachers during the summer.  The Lead Teacher Renewal Agreements will be available at the first meeting of Leadership Training as scheduled in January or February, depending on the choice of location.  We look forward to working with each of you for another year!
